The album that changed my world

Today is a very stressful day work - consisting of a lot of mail merges which I have discovered I hate. God’s been throwing spanners in the works for next year again but I’m used to it by now, it’s all His after all. It makes it all so much more exciting!

Been trying to distract myself by thinking of the album which has had the biggest impact on me. I came up with Radiohead’s ‘The Bends’. I’m sure it’s quite an obvious choice but in some ways it totally changed my life. I bought it in the summer of ’96 because the boy I fancied at youth group loved Radiohead. I played it on repeat all summer, well not repeat but I kept turning the cassette over and over! It made me see what real music was and that there was so much more to life than Brit pop and Boyzone. I’ve never looked back and I love them to this day.

So what’s yours?

After stumbling upon your blog dear writter I've read your article on music, blah blah. My choice would be Chris Cornell's "Euphoria Morning". Who is Chris Cornell ? Soundgarden's vocalist gone solo. The lyrics are brilliant and the music is incredible. Give it a try, you'll love it just as I did and still do :)

Cheers

I think, dear meggy, that one of the most influentional albums in my life so far would be that of, the sissor sisters. I can't remember the title of the album but can't help but wonder what the world was like before the likes of 'Laura' and the one with the lyrics take 'your mamma out all night.' How can you bring your mum into a song without the use of a camp or possible screaming homosexual person wearing dungarees? Which brings me happily to my second most influential album, Dexy's Midnight Runners - Let's make this precious pure musical genius mixed with strong lyrics and a throbbing in your pocket type beat. Magic Meggy pure Magic
